Committed to our possibility of empowerment and contribution, we travel and teach workshops and private lessons in communities
across North America, and abroad. As dance trainers, we use a student-centred teaching method focussing on experiential
learning. Our philosophy is that proper technique makes this dance euphoric, but its importance is underestimated and its accessibility
is overestimated. Our workshops are unique in that they focus less on patterns and more on organic, ergonomic dance and giving dancers
access to this coveted, elusive technique. We teach you to dance first and foremost, because once you know how to dance,
patterns are a dime-a-dozen. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS: "I've seen/learned that already". Dedicated to professioanl development,
we are constantly upgrading our skills and discovering new pedagogy to make this dance work better. THIS DANCE EVOLVES ANNUALLY. IF
YOU AREN'T CONSTANTLY LEARNING YOU ARE MOVING BACKWARDS. We want you to feel empowered and confident about your dance
skills, because the better you feel, the more fun you and your partner will have. We are also big fans of FUN - educational entertainment. Our
students typically leave our workshops and private lessons with a rejuvenated attitude towards their own dancing, and a
better understanding and application of technique than they have gotten in the past 6 months (or 6 years) elsewhere.
"Freedom to a dancer means discipline. That is what technique is for - liberation." Martha Graham

what's this?
"I've been taking lessons in Vancouver for 2 years, but never had a chance to learn from Myles & Tessa until now. I was blown
away. There is simply no comparison. Their understanding of the dance is so deep and comes so naturally to them, yet they are able
to make the dance so accessible so quickly. They filled in all the gaps in my learning and made the dance make sense to me like it
never has before. I thought I loved it already, but I had NO IDEA it could be like this."
