Intermediate 7:30pm (Drop-ins
welcome)
BY PERMISSION ONLY. We are now offering our Intermediate WCS class as a DROP-IN. Our Intermediate classes are designed for
the experienced dancer of any level who is proficient at the skills in our Beginner syllabus. A quick, free assessment is required
in order to qualify for the Intermediate class. Most people who have been doing authentic WCS for more than six months should
be able to complete the syllabus. We spend part of each class filling in the gaps in your 2008 foundation technique and the other
part teaching practical application of each concept to specific moves.
Students stay in the Intermediate class
in order to work through a set curriculum of skills and patterns. Each series focuses on new concepts and applications,
with little to no repetition. Half of each class is designed to clean and improve your basics and the other half is focussed
on building new skills and creating your own style. *If you are very experienced in other dance styles, you may take a few
private lessons to catch up, then join into the Intermediate class with permission.
DROP-IN FEE: $15. Or still buy a full series for
$49.
Students are highly encouraged to stay for the Dance Party after.

Individual assessments
available by request.
Assessment is a critical part of the learning process for any skill. In school you had grades, in swimming you had badges, and in
karate you have belts. These all indicate the level and quantity of skills you have aquired and mastered. Without evaluation and assessment,
students have no idea where they stand, or where they're going. Assessment makes the teacher accountable for their students'
learning.
As accountable teachers, we believe you deserve to know where you stand and where you are going. Each of our classes
has a syllabus of skills and patterns along with qualitative standards for each level. Students can see which skills they have
learned and are working on mastering, as well as what skills they can look forward to learning next. When a student has mastered
all the skills for Beginner level, he can request an assessment. An assessment is a free, 5-10 minute informal observation of the
student's skills where the teacher compares the student's dance skills to the standards required for Intermediate level. If the
student does not meet the standards, the teacher will offer feedback and suggest skills to work on (such as in Private
Lessons) in order to get ready to move up to the next level.
