I took many workshops and private lessons to learn the basics, but often left more confused, not really understanding the “how” and “why”. I did the Swing Literacy program in 2016 – it was the biggest linguistic challenge ever for me, but so worth it! It’s a terrific program – so detailed – M&T’s knowledge of body mechanics and pedagogy really impressed me.  Tessa has a wonderful direct way of writing, which is really important! I am grateful for their education because it gives me certainty about what and how I teach my students, especially the “Pattern Progression Matrix” lists, and high-quality connection progressions. Yes, I know, my students do not learn the wild figures first, but I can teach them to understand the dance and analyze it for themselves, which makes them safe and creates immediate fun – their own styling happens more organically! I use my SLDM resources and the Coach’s Corner blog all the time – I love it, and I love what M&T have done for WCS!
